“Biggie, Beethoven, Busta, and Bach” – a Wytold performance of classical remixes blended with instrumental covers of old rap songs.
In high school, Wytold sometimes listened to classical music, and at other times, listened to pop, rock, and rap. During the 2015 Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival, Wytold revisited both by adding grooves and solos to well-known classical melodies and creating classical instrumental twists to rap lyrics and samples.
Imagine string ensemble versions of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” blended with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, or a mellow bluegrass arrangement “Big Poppa”…all featuring the talented musicians, Ethan Foote on double bass, Chelle Fulk on violin, and Jerry Tolk on electric guitar. All instrumental covers are family-friendly – no lyrics 🙂
