Through performance, composition, and collaboration, Wytold continues to learn from and synthesize his various influences while encouraging budding strings musicians to explore non-traditional musical styles and techniques.
He has been teaching cello lessons in the DC area for 14 years and specializes in teaching non-traditional styles, songwriting and improvisation.
Wytold also regularly performs at school assemblies as “Science of Sound” and “Fireflies, Fairies and Squids: Music Theory Demystified” workshops.
Wytold has led many workshops and educational performances with military communities at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Fort Belvoir through collaborative work with poet Seema Reza and Veteran artist Joe Merrit.
Seema, Joe and Wytold also lead cross-disciplinary workshops in which participants write poetry or create artwork in response to Wytold’s live music, or create multi-disciplinary content to be shared on stage. The HBO Documentary “We Are Not Done Yet” depicts the process for one of these kinds of workshops.
Wytold was a co-founder of Seema and Joe’s nonprofit organization Community Building Art Works (CBAW), which offers regular multi-disciplinary workshops for Veteran communities across the country.
